Mobile Chipper 1006 PT Truck

The 1006 PT model wood chipper can be used on-road, or at landings beside a forest road for the high-capacity production of fuel chips from energy wood and forest residues. It has the ability to process full-length trees and logs up to a diameter of 60cm for softwood and up to a maximum diameter of 50cm for hardwood, as well as brushwood.

The chipper and a crane are built onto a truck chassis and powered by the truck’s engine. The installation can only be carried out on heavy-duty model trucks, with more than 515kW (700hp) output.

The 1006 PT system is totally integrated with the truck, which is fitted with a bodybuilder frame, transmission with a powerful gearbox, hydraulic system and our intelligent control system.

Base machine

The 1006 PT chipping unit for trucks consists of a drum chipper powered by the truck engine, a crane, crane cabin, power transmission, and electrical and hydraulic systems; the unit also includes a mounting frame. The unit is installed on a truck with 6x4 chassis type, with a wheel base of 4.3m.

Drum chipper

The 1006 chipper is designed for heavy-duty applications. It has an enclosed chipping drum with the chips discharged via a chip accelerator and chip tube. This combination provides the most energy-efficient chipping process and a consistently high chip quality.

Base assembly

On the truck, there is a mounting frame, foundations for the chipper and crane, along with platforms and ladders for the safe maintenance of the chipper, knife and tool box, and fire extinguishers in protective boxes. The rear fenders are constructed in steel.

The power transmission from the truck engine to the chipper rotor is achieved via an HD distribution box, driveshaft and V-belt drive.

Hydraulic system

The hydraulic system is a load-sensing type with variable pumps for the chipper and the crane. Proportional valves enable the exact operation and control of the infeed. A hydrostatic pump enables the chip accelerator to run at a constant speed regardless of engine’s revolutions. The separate load-sensing and variable pump support the crane, cabin and support legs.

The hydraulic coolers have an electric-drive reversible fan, and the hydraulic tank is equipped with an effective filter system.

Electrical system

The chipper features a complete control system with truck engine operation from the crane cabin. The system includes monitoring, alarm and safety features, including for water temperature, water level, oil pressure and charging as well as temperature, oil levels and filters for the hydraulics. Electronically monitored infeed load control provides the most effective high-capacity chipping.

Everything is controlled and monitored via a central Windows-based computer located in the driver’s cabin. The system has a color touchscreen with instruments and control devices for all hydraulic functions. A set of push buttons for operating the chipper functions are located near the crane control levers.
