Customer conference strengthens ties and showcases capabilities

11 Dec 2019

Bruks Siwertell Group has customers in every dry bulk sector on almost every continent. “It is very important to us that we remain fully aware of industry trends and the international, national and regional issues that affect our customers,” says Magnus Rundqwist, Global Sales Manager, Bruks Siwertell Americas.

“Customer conferences and our wider participation at worldwide industry events are an important factor in maintaining our knowledge base, as well providing our customers with easy opportunities to speak with us face-to-face,” he continues.

A recent contact point for customers in Australasia, was a two-day event held in Newcastle, Australia, at the end of October. Organized with Ammermann Pty Ltd, Bruks Siwertell’s agent in Australia, the conference included delegates from Mitsui Oceania, Qube Holdings, Tasmanian Ports Corporation, Newcastle Agri Terminal, Port of Newcastle, Innovative Shipping, EC Stevedoring Pty Ltd, and Linx.

It also involved a site visit to the Port of Newcastle, which is investing heavily in the dry bulk sector and, according to the port, is aiming to make Newcastle the cleanest and most efficient bulk handling import facility on Australia’s East Coast. At the port, in 2014, a Siwertell ship loader commenced operations for the privately-owned Newcastle Agri Terminal. It set new standards in grain loading and rail discharge speeds, while minimizing dust emissions and noise generation.

A genuine interest in technology

“Conferences like these are a really efficient and effective way of networking, allowing customers in the region to come to you to discuss their operations and opportunities to work together on projects,” adds Mr Rundqwist. “They create a genuine interest in the technology that we offer and provide a platform to showcase new and existing products.”

During the conference, technical papers covering Bruks Siwertell’s product and service portfolio were presented by Jan Karlsson and Magnus Rundqwist from Bruks Siwertell and Richard Sagar from Ammermann.

Of particular interest was Bruks Siwertell’s range of stacking and reclaiming systems. Automated versions deliver the greatest efficiencies and offer significant cost savings. They are tailored to meet the needs of the operator and can handle a wide range of materials from aggregates and coal to grains, sulfur and wood products.

Every year, Bruks Siwertell participates at numerous worldwide conferences and exhibitions; for example, we will attend the Bulk 2020 Australian Bulk Handling Expo in April 2020. Contact us to find out if we will be at an event near you.
