Bruks Siwertell secures major woodyard system order from fiber packaging specialist

22 Oct 2025

Bruks Siwertell has received a significant order for the delivery of a complete Bruks woodyard material handling and storage system from an undisclosed operator in North America. It will be installed at a kraft pulp and paper mill, which primarily produces food-grade packaging, alongside existing Bruks technology.

“Necessary repair work has prompted the operator to expand the mill’s woodyard capacity and improve operational efficiency,” says Greg Hausler, Aftermarket Parts and Service Manager, Bruks Siwertell Americas. “The company’s prior experience with our technology and service support was a decisive factor in the contract.”

The order includes nine conveyors, three towers, multiple service platforms, and a Bruks cross-over stacker reclaimer (COSR) system. The new woodyard will handle wood chips at a design throughput of 500t/h for stacking and 350t/h for reclaiming, with a total capacity of approximately 57,000m3 (two million ft3) of live storage.

“The installation will significantly improve material-flow efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance overall operational reliability, restoring and upgrading a critical part of the facility. It will also minimize spillage, dust, and noise at the mill, contributing to sustainable fiber-packaging production well into the future,” continues Hausler.

“We are delighted that the operator has once again placed its trust in Bruks Siwertell, and its decision reflects our long-standing partnership and the reliability of our technology. Furthermore, our integrated engineering and fabrication approach has provided a key advantage for this project,” he adds. “Our in-house mechanical and structural design capabilities ensure consistent quality, seamless interface management, and single-source accountability for the entire conveyor and stacker reclaimer package.”

Equipment deliveries will be completed in two phases between the second quarter of 2026 and the first quarter of 2027, with all components shipped and assembled on site. Phase one will include the delivery of five conveyors and two towers, and phase two will comprise the delivery of four conveyors, one tower, multiple service platforms, and one COSR.
