Bruks air-supported conveyors deliver high-capacity bulk handling for new Canadian wood pellet export plant
13 Dec 2018
Bruks Siwertell has been awarded the contract to design and supply two high-capacity air-supported conveyor systems for Canadian company, Barrette-Chapais Ltee. They will support Barrette-Chapais’ new wood pellet export facility currently under construction in Saguenay, Quebec, Canada.
The company has ordered Bruks’ new air-supported belt conveyor system for retrieving wood pellets from two covered pellet domes at a rated capacity of 800t/h. The pellets will then feed directly onto a 305m (1,000ft) long Bruks air-supported Turbulator conveyor to the dock.
Using Bruks’ innovative suspension cable towers, the Turbulator will only require four supports over the conveyors’ entire length, resulting in minimal foundation and installation requirements. Commissioning of the facility is scheduled towards the end of 2019.
