Clean and efficient coal handling

Siwertell was awarded the contract for this Siwertell ship unloader by PT Semen Gresik, Indonesia, for importing coal to their cement plant. Also installed was a belt conveyor to transfer the coal from the unloader to the plant several kilometres away.

The reason for the customer’s investment in this Siwertell ship unloader was to import coal for the cement production at their cement plant in Tuban, the “Tuban II Cement Plant Project”.

The ship unloader is totally enclosed and provides an environment-friendly and smooth discharge of bulk materials onto a planned long-distance belt conveyor between the unloading jetty and the cement plant itself, which is several kilometres away.

While waiting for the completion of the belt conveyor, it was decided to equip the unloader with a high capacity truck loading spout in order to temporarily have the material transported by trucks to the cement plant.

Furthermore, the contract included the supply of new travelling rails for long travel, 2 x 200m, and supervision of erection as well as commissioning of the PLC-system.
