2 Jun 2025
Bruks Siwertell Group has released its 2024 annual sustainability report, showcasing the Group’s commitment to sustainable development across all areas of its operations. This year’s report reflects a deepening of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives, in line with the company’s guiding message: ‘Handling the Future’.
“We are continuing to deepen our sustainability commitments, aligning actions with our core message,” says Clas Gunneberg, CEO, Bruks Siwertell Group. “In this year’s report, we share our progress in key areas, including extensive efforts in calculating our carbon footprint, energy-saving initiatives, and increasing sustainability awareness across our global teams, and throughout our customer base and supplier network.
“Transparency remains central,” Gunneberg emphasizes. “As part of this, we share detailed updates in the report, which reflect our systematic approach, any measurable changes and the monitoring of our environmental impact.”
The report highlights the energy-mapping progress that was carried out in 2024 across a number of business units in Sweden and in Atlanta, USA, this work will continue in 2025. Energy-saving initiatives are also being carried out Group-wide, including a notable example at the Bjuv, Sweden site, with the installation of 758 solar panels. They are estimated to generate approximately 400,000 kWh annually, offsetting more than a third of the site’s total energy consumption.
“This not only demonstrates a focus on energy efficiency, but also serves as a clear step towards our goal of reducing CO2 emissions in scopes 1 to 3 by 50 percent by 2030,” notes Gunneberg.

Elsewhere, in other Group companies, FTG Baltic, completed a tree-planting project in the Lithuanian district of Zarasai, and the rebuild and modernization of one of Bruks Siwertell’s business units in Arbrå, Sweden, is already delivering energy savings and waste management improvements. Arbrå is also well-advanced in its efforts to have equal representation of women and men in its local management team.
“The increase in sustainability awareness among our personnel is a really positive advance, along with our leadership teams all participating in diversity and inclusion workshops,” he adds.
In 2024, Bruks Siwertell implemented the Position Green Supplier Assessment Module; a tool that helps the Group validate whether a supplier is compliant with its Supplier Code of Conduct policy. The module also has a carbon accounting feature that enables Bruks Siwertell to track scope 3 carbon emissions, which have been included in the 2024 report.

As for the future, Bruks Siwertell’s 2025 sustainability journey is building on current momentum with targeted initiatives. Ongoing and planned environmental projects include: scenario and resilience analysis at all sites; tailored CO2 mitigation transition plans; continued energy mapping; and a pilot project on circularity and sustainability in product development.
With regard to social advances, there will be a dedicated diversity and inclusion week, a Group-wide health and movement initiative, reinforcing the focus on employee wellbeing and a health and safety focus year, further advancing safe working practices.
Further developments in governance and the future positioning of the Group, in line with regional, national and global regulatory frameworks, will be backed by training and strengthened management and reporting systems.
