Bianca Ziegert, part of the accounting team and responsible for sustainability at Bruks Siwertell company, Bruks Klöckner, in Hirtscheid, Germany, plays a crucial role in ensuring both financial support and environmental responsibility.

While my role does not involve direct contact with our products, my work in the sustainability team has provided me with a valuable insight into our machines, their composition and manufacturing, and industry supply chains.

What fascinates me is how our products are customized to meet the specific needs of different customers in wood processing sectors. The versatility of our machines and their applications makes them truly remarkable.

Collaboration across borders

My work spans two essential areas. In accounting, I manage invoices, guarantees, and time management, helping to ensure smooth financial operations. At the same time, my role in the sustainability team involves working with colleagues across all Bruks Siwertell Group sites to calculate emissions for the company’s sustainability report in accordance with European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).

I also help plan workshops and initiatives that focus on the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) categories outlined in our sustainability ambitions.

In my daily work, I interact with colleagues in Hirtscheid, while also maintaining regular communication with the Group’s international sustainability team members. Looking ahead, my role will expand to include engagement with suppliers, reinforcing sustainability efforts throughout the supply chain.

Skills that make a difference

To do my job, you need a combination of analytical thinking, numeracy, and proficiency in English, alongside an active interest in environmental issues. Clear communication with colleagues is essential. We work together to create effective sustainability strategies and financial accuracy.

What excites me most about my role is the opportunity to shape the company’s sustainability structure. Formal sustainability reporting is a relatively new field for us, and I enjoy taking responsibility and working with different departments internationally to build something meaningful.

For me, the work environment and the people I collaborate with make Bruks Siwertell an exceptional place to work. The connection between international teams is invaluable, and the flexibility to grow and progress within the company is really appealing.

Bruks Siwertell offers a broad spectrum of career opportunities, allowing personnel to explore new roles in line with their developing interests. With a supportive and innovative workplace culture, the company empowers its people to contribute to cutting-edge solutions and global sustainability efforts.
