BRUKS Rockwood was selected to engineer and install a complete wood yard system for Colombo Energy at Greenwood, South Carolina. The mill receives trucks full with southern yellow pine trees to be placed onto the log deck to start the debarking and chipping process. A 75’ truck dumper with hopper was added for purchased chips or for an addition option during maintenance on the log line. From there the wood chips are stacked and stored using a circular blending bed stacker reclaimer in a max 1,000,000 cubic foot pile. The circular blending bed stacker reclaimer uses a traversing harrow that agitates the pile to evenly feed the screw reclaimer under the moving bridge that travels on wheels. This process creates true first in and first out reclaiming of the wood chips. The wood chips are then reclaimed and conveyed to the hammermills for secondary sizing. The bark is conveyed to a hydraulic stoker floor to be reclaimed into the process.
